Join us on the second Wednesday of every month from 7:00PM –9:00PM, at Gem State Brewing in Eagle Idaho for an evening of fly tying, learning, and community. Hosted by Boise River Guides, and supported by Blue Line Fly Company, and Loon Outdoors, this free event is designed to bring together those who are new to the sport—or simply curious about fly fishing and fly tying with experienced tiers and anglers, to share ideas, and learn.
Blue Line Fly Company provides the vises, tools, and materials needed to get started, while Boise River Guides will have professional guides on hand serving as tying instructors to help participants learn techniques, improve their skills, and answer questions throughout the evening.
Whether you're tying your very first fly or have years of experience at the vise, you'll find a welcoming group of fellow anglers ready to share knowledge and connect. Come tie flies, enjoy a great local brewery, and be part of the growing Treasure Valley fly fishing community.
Each night, one of our amazing guides will walk you step-by-step through the basics of fly tying, from the tools to the materials, to the techniques. You’ll learn how to place a hook firmly in the vice, how to use tools like a bobbin holder, scissors, and a “whip finish tool”, along with each step to completing your very first fly.
Learning a few basic techniques will open the whole world of fly tying to you.
No sign up necessary, just show up and have a great time.
